The Great Potoo, more commonly referred to as the “ghost bird” is known for singing hauntingly beautiful melodies while looking like an idiot. They are believed to hold deep wisdom, know truths beyond this realm, have oracular-like insights of the unknown, all while seriously looking like a freak. If you see one it is believed that trouble or even death is imminent. This begs the question, if trouble is imminent after seeing a ghost bird, then why should you see Ghostbird? Maybe you shouldn’t. But then again, maybe trouble and death is imminent regardless, and if you’ve gotta go, you might as well get a little weird first.
